Salary range: £41,200 to £61,800 per annum (dependent on experience)

We're looking for a Lead Primary Maths Specialist – Mixed Age to join White Rose Education and lead the development of our mixed-age primary mathematics offer.

For this role, we're looking for someone who really understands the opportunities and challenges of mixed-age maths teaching.

You’ll take the lead on developing and continuously improving our mixed-age mathematics offer, ensuring teachers have the curriculum, resources and support they need to deliver ambitious, coherent maths education to every child – regardless of how their classes are organised.

This isn't about leaving your teaching experience behind.

It’s about taking it with you – and using it to make a difference far beyond the classroom.

What could you be doing?

This is a varied role combining primary mathematics expertise, curriculum development, educational leadership and people management.

One day, you might be exploring how mathematical concepts should be sequenced across mixed-year classes so pupils continue to progress without unnecessary repetition.

Another might see you developing and quality-assuring new resources, working directly with schools to test ideas or delivering professional development to teachers and school leaders.

You’ll also play an important role in the leadership of our Primary Maths team, supporting and developing other specialists and deputising for the Head of Primary Maths when required.

You could be:

• leading the development and continuous improvement of our mixed-age primary maths curriculum and resources;
• using your classroom experience to solve the practical challenges faced by teachers working with mixed-year groups;
• translating the National Curriculum, educational research and emerging curriculum reform into resources teachers can genuinely use;
• creating and quality-assuring high-quality teaching, learning and assessment materials;
• working with mixed-age schools to test ideas, gather feedback and continually improve what we offer;
• designing and delivering CPD and professional development for teachers and school leaders;
• supporting, mentoring and line managing members of our Primary Maths team;
• representing White Rose Education through webinars, conferences, blogs and professional networks; and
• working with colleagues across White Rose Education to help shape the future of our Primary Maths offer.
