An auxiliary (assistant) high school band instructor assists the head band director in operating the school's band program during performances. Duties include instruction, rehearsal support and student supervision.
Essential Duties- Assists the marching band director with rehearsals, performances, and field shows.
- Supports the instruction and coordination of marching band rehearsals and performance activities.
- Assists with administrative duties, including supervising students during football games, competitions, parades, and band trips.
- Helps monitor student behavior, attendance, and participation during rehearsals and events.
- Chaperonins field trips, competitions, and after-school band activities.
- Provides support to ensure the safe and effective operation of the marching band program.
- Regular attendance is required.
- Stipend will be prorated based upon the work begin date. In the event the position is shared between two candidates, the stipend will be split.
- The physical demands of this assignment include the ability to sit and stand for extended periods and the ability to lift and move items weighing up to 25 pounds
- Demonstrated ability to manage all aspects of a public-school band and flags program.
- Proven ability to support high-level practice sessions.
- Prior experience in preparing athletes for interscholastic band competitions.
- Prior experience in supporting team fundraising efforts.
