(Conversion salary target: $75,000–$90,000 annually, based on experience)
Seneca Resources is seeking a hands‑on EHS Technician to support a growing manufacturing and operations environment in Glen Allen, VA. This onsite role is ideal for a safety professional who thrives in execution‑focused work and enjoys being embedded on the shop floor while also owning the documentation and compliance side of EHS.
An existing safety policy and gap analysis are already in place. The focus of this role is implementation—building out programs, creating documentation, driving corrective actions, and ensuring day‑to‑day compliance across warehouse, manufacturing, and test lab environments.
This position offers high visibility, autonomy, and the opportunity to make an immediate impact while supporting the future buildout of the EHS function.
Time Allocation- 60–70% shop floor and operational support
- 30–40% administrative and compliance documentation
- Translate existing safety policies into fully executed EHS programs and procedures
- Develop and document safety processes for manufacturing, warehouse, test lab, and field service operations
- Create Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and task‑based risk assessments in partnership with operations teams
- Conduct safety audits, inspections, and routine walkthroughs
- Identify gaps in OSHA and safety compliance and drive corrective actions to closure
- Coordinate sourcing and installation of safety equipment and controls
- Track, document, and verify corrective actions
- Perform a full inventory of on‑site chemicals
- Build, organize, and maintain a complete Safety Data Sheet (SDS) system
- Improve chemical labeling, storage, and documentation practices
- Maintain OSHA 300 and 300A logs
- Support annual OSHA reporting and recordkeeping
- Ensure all EHS documentation is audit‑ready and reflects current site conditions
- Own EHS records including training documentation, inspections, logs, and checklists
- Maintain organized, accurate, and up‑to‑date compliance files
- 2–5 years of hands‑on experience in EHS, safety, or regulatory compliance
- Experience supporting EHS programs in manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial environments
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and general industry safety standards
- Experience creating JSAs, conducting safety audits, and managing corrective actions
- Comfortable with documentation‑heavy work and administrative ownership
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities with minimal supervision
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
- Experience in electrical, mechanical, or industrial manufacturing environments
- Hands‑on experience managing SDS systems and chemical inventories
- Background building EHS programs from existing policies or templates
