- Participate in Plan of Day Meetings communicating any environmental risks or concerns. This is a good opportunity to make your site team aware of any upcoming regulatory inspections as well as weather updates, corrective action timelines that could include completion status updates as well.
- Participate in morning safety meetings with subcontractors. Sharing an environmental topic that applies to the current scope of work is beneficial (weather, wildlife, SWPPP, regulatory inspections).
- Ensure good housekeeping practices in the work areas of your assigned subcontractor are taking place and verify that appropriate spill containment / and waste disposal processes are being followed.
- Perform observations in active work areas to ensure that all risks have been assessed and proper control measures are in place. Closely inspect environmentally sensitive areas and determine if additional control measures are needed to prevent an environmental event. Communicate observations to the site team and verify that recommendations have been utilized.
- Support third party SWPPP inspections and when the inspection is complete, communicate any corrective action items that were identified, verify that the items are documented in the SWPPP and for Dominion sites only the corrective action items have been added to the online tracking tool.
- On a monthly basis, coordinate joint inspection walks with Strata and Client third party inspectors. This should align consistency between the inspectors and develop professional relationships with both parties.
- For Dominion sites only, use the online corrective action tool to submit extension requests. Remember, the extensions will only be accepted if the reason for extension can be justified (safety, weather, or procurement).
- After corrective action items have been communicated, follow-up on these items to verify completion. Ensure the corrective action items are being completed within the regulatory required time allowance. For Dominion sites only, mark corrective actions as being complete in the online tracking tool. This tool should be kept up with frequently showing no overdue corrective action items unless an extension request has been submitted.
- Work with the site environmental team to ensure all site specific environmental documents are accurate, up to date, and easily accessible.

- At the end of the day, ensure the site is left in storm ready conditions regardless of the forecast.
- Minimum degree – BS environmental science, engineering or related field
- 2+ years land development experience or SWPPP and SPCCC inspections
- Understanding of current environmental laws and regulations, especially CWA/NPDES standards and practices
- Proficient reading and interpretation of civil engineering plans
