Senior Electrical Design Engineer - Mission Critical (Data Centers)
My client is a 100% employee‑owned national MEP design-build firm delivering complex, high‑density mission‑critical/data center projects across the U.S. They are seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead technical design, guide project teams, and contribute to high‑performance electrical systems for next‑generation facilities.
Position SummaryLead, evaluate, design, and engineer electrical systems for new builds and upgrades, ensuring compliance with specifications and solving technical issues throughout the project lifecycle.
What You'll Do- Provide conceptual electrical design for major projects.
- Serve as the electrical design representative in project team meetings
. - Prepare complex preliminary redline electrical layouts for estimating.
- Perform advanced electrical calculations
, including load analysis, equipment sizing, short‑circuit/coordination studies, and power distribution. - Conduct site inspections for compliance and resolve design challenges.
- Supervise and mentor junior engineers in the production of electrical documentation.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
- PE License required.
- 8+ years of electrical design experience, including leadership responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of building electrical systems and general system operations.
- Ability to interpret complex plans and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency with CADD and Microsoft Office (Excel).
