Senior Health Physics Technician

Westinghouse is recruiting Senior Health Physics Technicians to work at various nuclear power plants across the United States. The role provides Radiation Protection coverage and oversight for plant activities and includes routine tasks as determined by certifications, qualifications, and skills. The position reports to the Westinghouse site manager and is located onsite at various sites.

• Provide Radiation Protection coverage and oversight for power-plant activities.
• Perform radiation and contamination surveys.
• Conduct material and equipment surveys.
• Release personnel and material.
• Escort material.
• Plan ALARA activities.
• Assist with decontamination activities.
• Support the Site Emergency Plan.

• Senior Health Physics Technician rating 3.1A or above (requires 2,000 hours of commercial nuclear power experience and a systematic approach to training).
• Knowledge of radiation safety principles, regulations, and industry standards.
• Knowledge of radiation detection and measurement equipment, including calibration and quality control.

The hourly pay range for this position, dependent on experience and qualifications, is estimated to be $34 to $40 per hour
