Power Engineer
IMP Aerospace & Defence invites applications.
Position Overview:
This position is responsible for operating and maintaining various types of stationary engines and mechanical equipment, such as boilers, pumps, compressors, motors, generators, and water or industrial waste treating equipment, and to provide heat and other utility services for buildings or industrial processes, under minimum supervision.
- Start equipment, observe meters, gauges and warning lights, adjust levels, valves and switch controls to obtain specific operating conditions and outputs.
- Analyze temperatures, pressures, fuel flow and other instrument readings to ensure efficient operation or combustion.
- Compile records of instrument readings, hours of operation, fuel consumption, and report on equipment performance and serviceability.
- Carry out daily maintenance of equipment, lubricate and make minor repairs.
- Remove all debris accumulated by task(s) performed and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
- Provide on-job training to other personnel in the power engineering trade.
- Assist with other maintenance tasks as required.
- Attend upgrading training for trade or personal development.
- Graduate of a recognized Power Engineer Technology program.
- Possess the minimum of Fourth-Class Ticket as issued by the Department of Labour.
- Have some knowledge of air-conditioning and have some refrigeration background.
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to IMP Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies, continuously focus on individual safety and safety of others, and fully comply with all Federal Health and Safety Legislation.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement, Lean & 8S activities in your area.
- Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Canadian government security clearances.

Benefits & Compensation- Salary: $30.00 to $75.55 per hour.
