Position Purpose

Seeking world‑class talent to join the world’s leading distributor of automotive and industrial replacement parts and value‑added services operating 5,500+ locations and servicing more than 20,000 locations in the U.S. and Canada. Working with an incredibly talented team, you will play a key role in building and running one of the world’s largest automotive and industrial replacement parts operations.

This Lead Engineer Warehouse Management System (WMS) position will be Distribution Center (internal customer) focused on better outline the design and coding of application functionality to outline and meet DC (Internal customer) requirements. In this role you lead a team of senior engineers and engineers accountable for delivering a multi‑year transformation initiative. You and your team will be responsible for design, development, testing, implementation, and optimization of warehouse management solutions using Manhattan’s Active WMS.

This individual must be a technologist & engineer at heart and be comfortable enabling new technology and being hands‑on with the execution of the strategy. They must exhibit a deep understanding of modern technology stacks and agile delivery models, demonstrate a focus on customer experience, and have a proven track record of modernizing technologies.

Close collaboration and alignment with business teams, application development teams, and security will be required. Exceptional abilities in building and maintaining strong working relationships and organizational savvy will be required. High‑level communication and presentation skills are required. The ability to attract, retain, and develop engineering talent will be critical.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a subject matter expert within the Manhattan Associates suite of applications, preferably MA Active WMS Platform.
  • Lead and manage a team of Engineers and Senior Engineers.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for all DC Automation systems (WES, MHE) integrating with WMS systems.
  • Provide technical guidance in API development, Google Cloud development, and support to the implementation team.
  • Develop and support MA Active Pro Active Custom changes as per business need.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Optimize warehouse operations by developing and implementing best practices and process improvements.
  • Monitor system performance and recommend improvements to increase productivity.
  • Conduct workshops and sessions to ensure effective use of the system.
  • Stay updated with Manhattan Active new product releases (innovations) in warehouse management.
  • Work independently, completing tasks competently, effectively, and efficiently based on priority.
  • Provide guidance for automation testing and performance testing of the WMS application.
  • Develop test plans for both unit and systems testing.
  • Verify the finalization and stability of code deliverables (SDN & Config) from Manhattan, as well as the impact on the production system.
  • Completely document all modifications and maintain system‑level documentation.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining departmental systems standards.
  • Support and troubleshoot issues with the assistance of functional analysts.
  • Work with architects and the team to incorporate artificial intelligence (AI) tools and techniques to solve business problems.
  • Be part of an on‑call rotation and support for business continuity after go‑live.
  • Provide 30‑40% travel as part of each DC implementation.
  • Other duties as assigned.
