What do we do?

Azure Summit Technology provides a wide range of multi-channel software defined radio solutions for applications including surveillance, emitter location, and interference cancellation. Systems can be tailored to meet a variety of requirements for bandwidth, dynamic range, number of channels, and computational resources. Supported platforms range from resource-constrained small UAVs and wearable devices to manned aircraft and submarines. Azure also offers innovative signal processing solutions to challenging problems in the realm of radio frequency spectrum awareness.

What will you do?

We are currently seeking a Software Engineering Manager. The selected candidate will be part of a dynamic, growing, cross-functional, and geographically distributed team. This position is located on-site at our facility in Fairfax, Virginia, with occasional overnight travel to our office in Melbourne, Florida and/or other locations as needed to support customer activities.

The new manager will be responsible for managing technical personnel in a department with a size of approximately 5 to 10 and growing. Responsibilities will be divided 20% functional management role and 80% direct charge program role. Functional management will include staff management, including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, coaching/mentoring, career development, and performance management. Direct program work will include Software Engineering technical leadership (performing project planning and status tracking, defining detailed tasks, estimating the time and effort required to perform tasks, and periodic reporting on task status).

The selected candidate may also be responsible for design, development, modification, integration and evaluation of complex signals intelligence, radar, and communications systems. Duties will include all aspects of software engineering, including requirements analysis and specification, software design, implementation and integration, testing, and installation.

Basic Requirements

• US citizenship, due to the nature of the work and contract requirement
• Active DoD TOP SECRET security clearance with the ability to obtain a TOP SECRET SCI, due to contract requirement
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or another relevant field
• Minimum 5 years’ experience with Java or C/C++
• Minimum 5 years’ experience leading development and integration of prototype RF systems for one or more of the following domains: communications, radar, signals intelligence, or electronic warfare
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a functional software engineering manager.

• Active TS/SCI Clearance
• Masters’ or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or another relevant field
