Systems Engineer IT - Sr

Overview

Lockheed Martin’s Darkwing program is seeking a Level 3 Systems Engineer‑IT, Sr with TS/SCI clearance, to work from the customer site in Dahlgren, VA. This role focuses on developing, delivering, and operating affordable engineering and sustainment solutions for commercial, military, and intelligence users worldwide.

• Familiar with virtual machines, Windows and Linux domains, systems integration, SQL database, network integration, hardware procurement, COTS software, and maintenance of operating systems.
• Experience troubleshooting anomalies and failures.
• Knowledge of IC security controls such as ICD
  503 certifications, defining workflows, and monitoring system compliance.
• Set up and maintain firewalls, servers, network switches and routers, and associated applications.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; explain procedures in writing and verbally.
• Support 24x7 operations occasionally, including weekend/evening or call‑in work.

• Strong systems engineering experience, defining and documenting system requirements.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with adjudicated CI polygraph.
• Experience troubleshooting systems/OS anomalies and failures.
• 3+ years with Windows operating systems; 3+ years with Linux systems.
• Experience with servers or similar virtualization platforms.
• Network‑layer troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to rack and install servers, switches, and hardware; lift 50 lbs and ascend/descend five stairs.
• Security+ (or higher) certification.

• 2+ years with Juniper networking technologies (routing, switching, firewall platforms).
• 2+ years of network segmentation (VLANs), VPNs, and secure communication pathways.
• Configuration and management of network devices (routers, switches, firewalls).
• Experience with Splunk.
• Represent program in meetings, provide status of action items and issues.
• Project engineering/execution experience.
• Familiar with software development techniques.
• Working knowledge of data centers.
• Planning of system development activities.
• Configuration management methods and practices.
• Detail‑oriented with strong written, oral, and analytical skills.
• Team player or independent worker.
• Script writing in shell scripting, C#, HTML, SQL, Power Shell; knowledge of DNS, SMTP, NFS, FTP, Telnet, SSH.
• Basic database manipulation and modification.
• Ability to work well with customers.

• Location:
  
  Dahlgren, VA (customer site).
• Full‑time;
  First shift.
• Standard Monday‑Friday, 40‑hour work week.
• On‑site only; requires travel to other sites.

TS/SCI with CI polygraph is required.
