About the RoleWe are seeking a detail‑oriented and commercially minded Estimating professional to join our Bids & Tenders Sales team. This role is critical in supporting project delivery by developing accurate, competitive estimates for communications and infrastructure projects.
Depending on experience, you will contribute across both tendering and engineering estimation activities, working closely with project managers, engineers, and bid teams to ensure proposals are technically sound and financially viable.
This is a permanent full‑time office‑based position in our Virginia location.
Key Responsibilities- Preparing accurate cost estimates for labour, materials, equipment, and subcontracted works
- Analysing project drawings, specifications, and requirements to define scope and cost drivers
- Supporting tender submissions, proposals, and bid development activities
- Engaging with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing and optimise cost efficiency
- Identifying risks and developing mitigation strategies to ensure realistic and competitive pricing
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders across projects, engineering, and sales teams
- Maintaining accurate records, cost databases, and supporting continuous improvement of estimating processes
- Assisting with cost tracking, reporting, and post‑project analysis where required
- Experience in estimating or engineering roles within communications, electrical, or infrastructure industries
- Strong understanding of cost estimation methodologies, project planning, and engineering principles
- Ability to prepare detailed, accurate estimates across a range of project sizes
- Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and numerical skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and estimation tools
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
