Field Service Engineer (Mechanical/Marine Engineer)
As a Field Service Engineer (Mechanical/Marine Engineer), you will provide field service technical direction in support of US Navy aircraft carrier, submarine, and other support vessels. You will provide technical direction primarily associated with the shipboard installation and overhaul of Curtiss Wright product such as steam turbines, pumps, trip throttle valves, and electrical generators. You will be providing engineering oversight to key clients throughout the disassembly, inspection, complex report writing, repairs, reassembly, and testing of related equipment.
Typical work environment is industrial in nature where odd hours and weekend work is not uncommon.
Location:
Chesapeake, VA Salary: $100,000 to $110,000.
- Provide field service technical direction for shipboard installation and overhaul of Curtiss Wright products.
- Oversee disassembly, inspection, report writing, repairs, reassembly, and testing of related equipment on naval vessels.
- Maintain meticulous attention to detail and perform maintenance and overhaul activity on complex rotating machinery.
- Read and interpret assembly and machining drawings and support operations using tooling, machining, and measurement devices.
- Troubleshoot complex rotating machinery and communicate professionally with internal and external customers.
- Generate complex Word and Excel reports and support overtime and weekend work as necessary.
- Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent and/or 10+ years experience in the related field.
- Must be a US citizen and be able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance.
- Preferred experience with shipboard construction environment and maintenance overhaul activity on complex rotating machinery, preferably steam turbine experience.
- Willing and able to travel up to 25% of the time.
- Strong basic computer skills, including navigation and generation of Word and Excel reports.
