Senior Instructor; Chemistry-Nuclear

Job Summary

Develop instructional materials and conduct training for Chemistry technical training program. An incumbent at this level should have in-depth knowledge of instructional design theory as well as expertise in the technical area for which he or she is providing training. This level works on the most complex training topics and is responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, implementing and evaluating training in the classroom, laboratory, and on the job.

This level also is responsible for maintaining training programs in accordance with nuclear industry, regulatory, and legal requirements.

• 12+ years of related experience OR
• Certified Instructor (including 5+ years of experience) OR
• RO or SRO (including 5+ years of experience) OR
• Senior Instructor Training Certificate from Dominion (including 5+ years of experience)
• In-depth knowledge of instructional theory and design and SAT
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Good personal computer skills
• Operate various instrumentation and controls
• Problem solving
• Analyze and develop training materials
• Train and lead others
• Interface with regulatory personnel and industry peers
• Informal leadership skills
• Ability to effectively communicate with regulators

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:
Bachelor in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Education. Other disciplines may be substituted for the preferred disciplines listed above.

Education requirements:

High school diploma

Minimum experience for the position:
Related experience which shall include 2 years;
Nuclear power plant experience to include 0.25 years.

• Shall have demonstrated knowledge of instructional techniques through training or experience and be certified as a qualified instructor for the material being presented.
• Instructors of licensed personnel who provide instruction on the simulator shall hold, or shall have held, a senior operator's license or have been certified for equivalent senior operator knowledge.
