Geotechnical Staff Engineer
, a position that provides professional geotechnical engineering services on a variety of public and private sector projects including buildings, bridges, roadways and pavements, retaining and shoring structures, underground infrastructure, storage tanks, towers, slopes and embankments, dams, and other civil works projects. Services are performed during both the design and construction phases of projects.
- Work with other members of the geotechnical services department to deliver exceptional results.
- Prepare geotechnical project work scopes, budgets, and proposals.
- Plan and coordinate field exploration programs including site reconnaissance.
- Perform soil and rock classification.
- Plan and coordinate geotechnical laboratory testing programs.
- Perform geotechnical engineering analysis, calculations, and computer modeling.
- Develop geotechnical engineering design parameters and recommendations.
- Prepare geotechnical engineering reports and deliverables.
- Manage geotechnical engineering projects, including project schedules, budgets, and invoicing.
- Communicate with existing and potential clients.
- Conduct field logging and support drilling program for a variety of projects.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical, or related field
- EIT license preferred
- Typically 0-4 years of experience preferred
- Proficiency with writing and reviewing technical reports
- Valid Driver's license with insurable driving record
- Ability to travel locally to/from project sites
- Ability to work extended hours when workload dictates
- Effective communication with internal and external clients through in-person, written, verbal, and electronic methods
- Willingness to participate in and pass F&R’s pre-employment screening including background investigation, drug screening, and driving record
