Civil Structural Engineer

Job Duration: 12+ Months (Possibility for Extension)

• Candidate will be responsible for developing and reviewing Design Changes, calculations, and technical evaluations in support of large capital projects as part of Surry Power Station’s Subsequent License Renewal.
• Candidate will work extensively with Engineers of Choice and manufacturers to ensure designs satisfy technical specifications and station design/license basis.
• Projects include, but are not limited to – 96” circulating water intake piping replacement, 4160V Cable Replacement, Fuel Handling Cranes Replacement, Containment cooling coil replacement, and R22 Elimination.

• Strong analytical capability in steel and concrete design.
• Proficient in the nuclear Standard Design Process and license/design basis assessment per 10

• Construction and implementation experience.
• Professional Engineer License;
  Has held qualifications at a nuclear power station in the last 3 years – including Design Change, Calculations, and 50.59 applicability/screen.

• Strong communication skills both verbal and written, internally to the team and with external vendors.
• Ability to lead, collaborate, and work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.
• Able to apply practical solutions to field problems.

• Commercial nuclear power plants within the last 3 years
