Greensboro, NC Pay Range: $75,000 - $100,000 Position Summary

The Electrical Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial and/or industrial electrical construction projects. This role analyzes drawings, specifications, and other documentation to determine labor, material, and time requirements, helping ensure projects are bid competitively and profitably.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents to develop detailed cost estimates.
  • Perform quantity take-offs for electrical systems (power, lighting, low voltage, etc.).
  • Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes.
  • Prepare and submit complete bid packages within deadlines.
  • Identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering options.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teams.
  • Maintain accurate cost databases and historical records.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed.
  • Assist with project handoff to operations after award.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in electrical estimating.
  • Knowledge of commercial and/or industrial electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Accubid, McCormick) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Additional Qualifications
  • Electrical field experience (electrician, foreman, or similar).
  • Experience with design-build projects.
  • Familiarity with NEC ( Electrical Code).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (but not required).
