Consulting Engineer – Surry Nuclear Plant, Surry, VA (12‑Month Contract)

About the RoleWestinghouse seeks an engineer to support the Projects Team for the Subsequent License Renewal at Surry Nuclear Plant. The role focuses on design and fabrication of piping supports, rigging analysis, design verifications, and owner reviews in accordance with the U.S. nuclear fleet standard design process.
Key Responsibilities- Apply civil/structural engineering analysis, evaluations, and component design to support large projects at SPS.
- Provide civil engineering support for projects such as crane replacements, feedwater heater replacements, building modifications, large piping, and other major component replacements.
- Schedule major engineering segments of complex projects to meet long‑range design development schedule goals.
- Attend station schedule and outage meetings.
- 10+ years of design engineering experience.
- B.S. in Civil/Structural Engineering (M.S. preferred, ABET accredited). High school diploma is minimum if experience can substitute.
- Familiarity with standard civil engineering codes.
- Experience writing equipment specifications.
- Experience with large projects.
- 10 CFR 50.59 screening preparation and review experience.
Base salary range: $80.00–$100.00 per hour (dependent on experience, qualifications, and skills). Benefits include comprehensive health and income protection benefits, 401(k) savings plan, and paid vacations for qualifying positions.
