Analyzes contract documents, plans, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to determine costs associated with precast concrete scope.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- All employees follow safety and quality rules to ensure a safe working environment and high‑quality product.
- Review contract documents to determine the precast scope of work, including projects such as parking garages, warehouses, schools, jails, prisons, and other facilities requiring innovative concrete products.
- Perform accurate take‑off of precast components.
- Utilize Excel spreadsheets to determine plant, freight, and field operation costs associated with each project.
- Prepare estimates for management, sales, planning, engineering, and field operations to aid in scheduling, bid preparation, and decision making.
- Consult with clients, vendors, or other stakeholders to discuss and refine estimates and resolve issues as requested by sales personnel.
- Complete duties within the appropriate timeframe with minimal supervision.
- Conduct special studies to develop standard hour and related cost data for cost reductions.
- Interface with other units to obtain support and commitment to cost estimates.
- Visualize and create 3‑D precast concepts from 2‑D contract drawings.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Understand engineering concepts including structural concepts, connections, component limitations, and constructability.
- Maintain daily contact with employees in other units, top management, customers, and vendors/suppliers.
- Education:
Associate’s degree (2‑year) or equivalent combination of experience/training required. - Experience:
1‑3+ years of related experience required.
