Cisco ISE Network Engineer
Our team is seeking a highly skilled Cisco ISE Network Engineer that will sit out of Washington DC for a federal civilian client. The ideal candidate will bring deep hands‑on expertise in Cisco network technologies, with a strong emphasis on Identity Services Engine (ISE), network security architecture, and troubleshooting. You will obtain Active Public Trust clearance and operate in secure environments.
Responsibilities- Plan, implement, and operate network services and systems, including hardware, software, and virtual environments.
- Design, analyze, plan, modify, and maintain networks and components supporting data, voice, and audio communication.
- Prepare analysis of short‑ and long‑term capacity needs for switching, routing, transmission, and signaling.
- Conduct network architecture design, feasibility and cost studies, and internal studies of performance and traffic analysis.
- Evaluate new technologies.
- Provide specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture; assist in hardware and software selection and recommend efficient solutions to meet business needs.
- Test network systems.
- Maintain technical expertise in network and computer hardware and software interconnection, including routers, switches, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
- Evaluate and report on new network technologies to enhance capabilities.
- Implement operational design standards and establish interfaces to fulfill interoperability and mission requirements; design, recommend, and execute configuration of all network equipment, facilities, and services to ensure highest security and efficient data flow.
- Determine specifications and manage cost analysis, procurement, testing, installation, support, and QA review of network communications, including LAN, MAN, and WAN systems.
- Monitor overall network performance; analyze and implement process models for operational impact and efficiency for optimization.
- Analyze network traffic and provide capacity‑planning solutions.
- Plan and oversee execution of network installations of system hardware and software upgrades.
- Plan and execute backups and recovery operations.
- Compile and maintain network records and documentation of configurations, development and maintenance schedules, policies, and procedures.
- Provide guidance and status updates regarding issues that could impact services.
- Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience working with Cisco ISE implementations (or 9 years overall).
- Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain Public Trust or Active Public Trust clearance.
- Experience operating in secure environments and understanding of federal security requirements.
- Strong background in network design, architecture, routing, switching, and firewall technologies.
- Washington, D.C., onsite, 5 days a week.
Pay range: $140,000–$155,000, depending on experience and skill set.
