Akkodis is seeking an Electronics & PCB Component Engineer for a Contract job with a client in Richmond VA 23231.
Rate Range: $55/hour to $65/hour;
The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Job DescriptionIn this role, you will have the opportunity to work on the designs of equipment, systems, or installations, including standard specifications for manufacturing, fabrication, or construction, using standard design concepts. You will review and implement engineering solutions, manufacturing processes, and test procedures to ensure components are built in accordance to specifications. You will also showcase your expertise by contributing to design reviews and design verification.
Responsibilities- Managing the complete lifecycle of PCB and electronic components in collaboration with Product Engineers
- Evaluating new PCB parts and ensuring that these are built to specification and quality standards
- Interacting with contract manufacturers and EMS to resolve manufacturing issues
- Participating in PCB layout reviews and suggest quality improvements
- Working on new product introduction (NPI), quality, and change projects
- Analyzing electronic components using advanced tools for obsolescence and risk mitigation
- Collaborating with design engineers on prototype builds and functional, EMI, and reliability testing
- Coordinating with cross-functional teams to resolve component and production issues.
- Bachelor degree in electrical/electronics engineering or related
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in PCBA manufacturing and working with SMD and THD components, PCB layout, and Gerber files.
- Experience in PCBA Testing procedures - Optical (AOI, AXI), Electrical and Functional (ICT, FCT, JTAG), Solderability, Contamination, etc.
- Knowledge of PCB guidelines for component placement and IPC/CE standards, a plus
- Experience with multilayer stack-up boards
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs, SAP, (PTC Windchill, a plus)
- Experience in CAD/Solid Works, a plus
- Strong multitasking and organizational skills; must be goals oriented, analytic, and methodical
