The Industrial Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position located in the Hampton Roads, Virginia Metropolitan Area. This role focuses on analyzing and improving operational processes across Exchange facilities, including evaluating workflows, productivity, and resource utilization to enhance efficiency and quality. Day-to-day tasks include collecting and interpreting data, mapping and redesigning processes, developing and implementing standard operating procedures, and collaborating with cross-functional teams such as operations, logistics, and manufacturing engineering.
The Industrial Engineer also supports continuous improvement initiatives, recommends cost-saving measures, and assists in implementing new technologies or methodologies that strengthen performance and service delivery. The role involves clear communication of findings and recommendations through reports, presentations, and stakeholder meetings.
- Strong foundation in Industrial Engineering, with experience applying engineering principles to optimize processes and systems.
- Demonstrated Analytical Skills for data collection, statistical analysis, problem-solving, and performance measurement.
- Background in Manufacturing Engineering or related fields, with knowledge of production workflows and operational best practices.
- Proven Process Improvement experience, including continuous improvement methods (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) and implementation of efficiency initiatives.
- Effective Communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and presenting technical information clearly to diverse stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
