Job Description & How to Apply Below

The Aerospace Corporation is the trusted partner to the nation’s space programs, solving the hardest problems and providing unmatched technical expertise. As the operator of a federally funded research and development center (FFRDC), we are broadly engaged across all aspects of space— delivering innovative solutions that span satellite, launch, ground, and cyber systems for defense, civil and commercial customers. When you join our team, you’ll be part of a special collection of problem solvers, thought leaders, and innovators.

Join us and take your place in space.

The Defense Systems Group (DSG) provides analysis-based decision support to senior leaders on space architectures, policy and strategy, developmental planning, system of systems engineering, and threat reduction to help shape future space missions across the national security space enterprise. DSG is unique at Aerospace as it not only directly supports major customers, including Air Force Space Command, U.S. Strategic Command, Air Force Materiel Command, and senior leadership at the Pentagon, but also provides a broad range of services and support across the national space enterprise, maintaining vertical responsibilities with customers but also horizontal, matrixed responsibilities across the corporation.

As part of the Space Enterprise and Warfighting Division, the Space Futures Integration Directorate provides technical advice, thought leadership, and systems engineering support to Space Force S9, Force Design and Analysis. This new Space Force Headquarters organization is responsible for driving the future of the Space Force through horizon scanning and foresighting, concept development, technology assessments, wargaming, experimentation, and force design and integration.

We are looking for builders, innovators, and technical staff with a start-up mentality.

As part of our growing Space Futures Integration team, you will help us build the backbone of S9 activities connecting strategic vision to executable future force design. You will interface directly with customers and with Aerospace teams to align strategic drivers and opportunities to concrete architectural and non-materiel recommendations for the Space Force’s Objective Force.

The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility in Crystal City, VA.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Develop and implement approaches for integrating concepts, technologies, and force designs within and across Space Force missions.
  • Collaborate directly with senior Government leaders, Aerospace program offices, and the Engineering and Technical Group (ETG) to address complex technical and programmatic challenges – including to support time-sensitive senior leader and Congressional inquiries
  • Lead or support the integration of mission area analyses and engineering into the Objective Force within a modern digital environment. Deliver best-in-class technical analyses and actionable recommendations that drive customer mission success.
