Job Summary

The Rental Advisor plays a critical role in supporting the Rental Department’s profitability by maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction, establishing and identifying customer needs, effectively meeting those needs, communicating with clarity, building rapport, and maintaining trust and continued patronage. This role is the “face” of Curtis Lane and its products/services, and the incumbent must collaborate with the team, customers, business partners, and vendors to convey satisfactory customer service at all times, abiding by the Company’s core values of Honesty, People and Growth.

Duties

and Responsibilities
  • Maintain clear and organized documentation and initiate/follow up on processes to assure a smooth rental experience.
  • Consistently document outreach activities and customer contact maintenance activities to meet expected metrics, using required systems as directed.
  • Assure optimal rental revenue by reviewing performance metrics, anticipating rental trends and needs, troubleshooting rental availability, negotiating rental scheduling, and notifying the Store manager of potential recovery actions.
  • Maintain accurate assessment of equipment inventory status and initiate appropriate workflows for maintenance, including cleaning, servicing, and repairs, to ensure rentals are clean and operating effectively.
  • Consistently epitomize Company core values, demonstrating genuine care for others.
  • Collaborate with team, customers, business partners, and vendors to achieve the best rental outcomes.
  • Complete assigned training timely and communicate training needs or concerns.
  • Maintain a clean and organized working environment at all times.
  • Anticipate team needs related to effective rental outcomes and communicate equipment inventory status.
  • Possess mechanical aptitude or experience with Bobcat machinery and their practical applications (preferred).
  • Exhibit good safety habits at all times and take initiative to address or resolve safety concerns.
  • Seek independent knowledge improvement to better meet customer needs.
  • Assess the competition and propose adjustments to pricing or offers.
  • Collaborate with accounting on customer credit and collections concerns for comprehensive resolution.
  • Maintain availability to the team through various communication modes, including in‑person, phone, intercom, radio, email, and text.
  • Understand and be willing to learn about construction phases involved in civil and commercial projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to enhance customer service practices and overall performance.
Requirements
  • Prior equipment rental experience of at least one year, with dealer experience highly preferred and Bobcat machinery practical experience desired.
  • Prior experience with scheduling, problem solving, and service recovery.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, presentation, listening).
  • Prior experience using proprietary system applications.
  • Experience juggling multiple priorities and handling ambiguous information with critical thinking to deliver solutions.
  • Detail oriented with strong documentation skills.
  • Professional demeanor and positive interactions.
  • Adherence to Company requirements, standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience adhering to expected performance metrics.
Physical/Sensory Needs

May lift, carry, push, pull up to 75 lbs at a time frequently. Requires walking, climbing stairs/ladders, bending, crouching, crawling, and using equipment such as keyboards, monitors, computers, phones, and copy machines, as well as tools or machinery requiring vision, eye‑hand coordination, and finger dexterity. Work may be indoors, standing for up to 100% of the schedule, and outdoors in varying weather conditions up to 30% of the schedule.
