OverviewAmazon seeks an experienced investigator to join the centralized Denied Party Screening (DPS) team, ensuring effective compliance with OFAC and other regulatory requirements across business units. The role focuses on meeting production goals, authenticating/screening customers and complex transactions, and providing guidance to investigators.
Key Responsibilities- Investigate denied parties and sanctions potential matches from Amazon’s screening solution for various business units.
- Participate in ongoing customer due diligence.
- Identify gaps and training opportunities in escalations through operations and compliance workflows.
- Onboard, train and mentor new hires.
- Reconcile operational metrics with DPS leadership.
- Perform holistic account review and investigations, support audits and outside inquiries, and assist in risk mitigation.
The position requires independent, accurate decision‑making following SOPs, collaborating closely with Operations Management, and supporting audit compliance and investigative processes.
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
- Flexibility to work varying schedules, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
- Fluency in Japanese (spoken, written, read).
- At least 3 years of experience in suspicious activity monitoring, fraud investigations, or denied parties/sanctions screening within a large company or financial services environment.
- Working knowledge of U.S. denied parties and sanctioned country laws and regulations.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication.
- CAMS certification.
- Experience handling confidential information.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Experience working with geographically distributed teams in a large international organization.
- Accountability and sound professional judgment.
- Ability to make timely decisions with incomplete information.
- Commitment to confidentiality of investigation data.
- Process improvement skills to benefit customers.
Base salary range 55,600.00 – 97,400.00 USD annually (varies by location), plus sign‑on payments and RSUs. The compensation package includes health insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, parental leave, and other benefits.
