Job Description & How to Apply Below
A growing division is looking for a senior finance leader to own end-to-end financial operations across the full accounting cycle. This person will sit at the intersection of field operations and executive leadership, driving performance visibility, cash management discipline, and long-term financial health across a complex, multi-project environment. Day-to-day, the role touches job costing, close management, and transactional oversight, while longer-term it carries real ownership of process and systems transformation.
Direct line to the Division Controller.
- Serve as the financial link between estimating, procurement, operations, and division leadership, making sure the numbers reflect what's actually happening in the field
- Oversee transactional finance functions including accounts payable, billing, and general ledger operations
- Hold the team accountable to weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual deadlines without exception
- Build and develop a team of five or more, with real investment in performance and professional growth
- Manage audit support, vendor relationships, and insurance reviews as they arise
- Identify and lead improvements across systems, workflows, and reporting infrastructure
- Translate financial data, cost trends, and project performance into actionable insight for leadership
- Build out financial models and scenario analyses to support bids, capital decisions, and strategic planning
- Bachelor's in accounting or finance required; CPA or Master's preferred
- 7+ years in accounting or finance with at least 3 of those in construction, including hands‑on experience with Cost Plus/GMP, fixed‑fee, and lump‑sum billing and revenue recognition
- Deep familiarity with construction‑specific accounting: WIP schedules, retainage, lien waivers, bonding, OCIP, job costing, and percentage‑of‑completion
- Exposure to construction ERP platforms a plus (CMiC, Viewpoint, Sage 300, Procore)
- 5+ years leading teams inside a high‑growth or high‑complexity organization
- Working knowledge of CBA environments and experience overseeing both union and non‑union payroll
- Solid GAAP foundation with a track record of financial operations ownership
- Strong communicator who can flex between field leadership and the executive suite
- Advanced proficiency across M365, Excel modeling, Power BI, and Share Point
