The Luna Labs’ Finance Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Billing and Finance Analyst. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of project accounting compliance standards, exceptional attention to detail, and a passion for achieving the company’s strategic goals through financial excellence. Reporting directly to the VP of Finance, the Billing and Finance is responsible for government contract billing management, including preparing and submitting invoices for all contracts;
completing accurate project ledger reviews and unbilled reconciliations; processing and reporting activities; and supporting interim, quarterly, and annual audit activities. The Billing and Finance Analyst must have in-depth Deltek CostPoint project ledger experience and applied skill and knowledge of US GAAP and FAR policies and procedures. Primary responsibilities and duties associated with this role include, but are not limited to the following:
- Prepare and submit invoices for government and commercial customers in compliance with contractual and FAR regulations for all contract types.
- Review contract documents for information or changes related to invoicing.
- Maintain and updates billing folders.
- Manage open billing detail and obtains necessary approves for write-offs.
- Reconcile unbilled balances to GL.
- Analyze revenue reports to understand and communicate unbilled balances.
- Analyze reports for billing and revenue recognition.
- Works closely with projects teams and financial administration to resolve complex billing issues.
- Assist with Incurred Cost Submission.
- Assist with collection process
- Participates in special projects as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
- 5+ years previous accounting operations experience is required. Experience in SBIR contracting is preferred.
- Recently applied experience with Deltek Costpoint is a firm requirement.
- Microsoft Excel proficiency (i.e. pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and IF Functions)
- Familiarity with accounting support with various government agencies (i.e. DOD, NIH, Aerospace…etc.) is preferred.
- CPA preferred.
- Due to government contracting regulations, U.S. citizenship is a firm requirement.

Work EnvironmentAt the discretion of the supervisor, and with secure and reliable company equipment and software, the duties associated with the responsibilities of this role may be completed a maximum of 3 days offsite/remote. This role is primarily sedentary. The ability to occasionally lift a maximum of 50lbs may be required.
