We Are Seeking Qualified Applicants For The Position Manager, Tax - Fixed Assets Location

SummaryWe are looking for a Manager, Tax (Fixed Assets) to join our Accounting & Tax department. This position will be located in Arlington, VA. The Manager, Tax will be responsible for managing the fixed assets ledger for tax purposes and support tax compliance, provision, and tax planning projects for our operations in the U.S. and international locations. The position will report to the Director, Tax and work closely with various teams to carry out some of the responsibilities described below.
Responsibilities- Manage the fixed assets capitalization process and maintain the Tax Fixed Assets Ledger using fixed assets software
- Prepare and maintain reconciliations and documentation related to fixed assets GAAP/Tax differences that impact the ASC 740 tax provision
- Maintain cost capitalization calculations for Section 263(a), mixed service costs, and capitalized interest
- Assist with preparation of quarterly and annual tax provision, including financial statement disclosures
- Work with general ledger, financial reporting and technical accounting teams to gain an understanding of GAAP treatment for cost capitalization and depreciation to ensure appropriate tax return positions
- Identify and support strategies to optimize tax depreciation processes
- Support property tax and tax incentive compliance
- Stay abreast of revisions to various income tax laws and other authority and manage the impacts to fixed assets and depreciation
- Mentor and train junior team members to develop their skills and knowledge in fixed assets and tax depreciation
- Support other special projects and compliance initiatives, as needed
- Advanced understanding of tax depreciation rules (Federal and State)
- Intermediate understanding of US tax cost capitalization rules
- Utilize a pro‑active problem solving mindset to achieve business and tax objectives.
- Have a strong work ethic and be comfortable working with evolving priorities.
- Must be able to operate effectively and accurately in a deadline‑driven fast‑paced environment
- 5+ years tax experience in Big 4 public accounting firm, corporate tax department of multinational company, or combination thereof
- Master’s degree in an accounting discipline preferred
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong Excel knowledge with a drive to automate processes
- Familiarity with AI tools and SAP is a plus
- Discretion in dealing with confidential material
