FINANCE MANAGER
Montgomery County, VA
Finance Department
Responsibilities- Perform complex professional and difficult administrative work.
- Coordinate, plan, and prepare detailed reporting for the County’s annual audits and related component units and agencies for which the County is the fiscal agent.
- Prepare audit work papers, implement new guidance, and produce the County Annual Comprehensive Financial Report.
- Develop and maintain the departmental procedures manual.
- Interpret federal and state laws, local ordinances, and procedures to ensure compliance of financial activities.
- Provide leadership in the absence of the Director and Assistant Director and act as a backup for various finance functions.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (required). Six years of related experience preferred.
- Must hold and maintain a Virginia Certified Public Accountant License.
- Ability to work within broad policy and organizational guidelines, independently plan and implement projects, and report progress through meetings.
- Strong knowledge base of Finance, Payroll, and HR systems, applications, databases, and advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
- Starting salary: $69,, dependent on experience and qualifications.
