Leads and manages a team of mortgage underwriters, ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely loan decisions in accordance with company, investor, and regulatory guidelines. Serves as a subject matter expert for agency, jumbo, and Non-QM lending while driving quality, performance, and risk mitigation through coaching, audits, and cross-department collaboration.

• Minimum 5 years of mortgage underwriting experience. 2+ years in a leadership or managerial role overseeing underwriters. Strong working knowledge of mortgage business operations procedures for loan origination. Knowledge of mortgage servicing operations is a plus. Knowledge of federal and state compliance laws and regulations, including a proven ability to apply these requirements to business practices and systems. Examples: TRID, RESPA, TILA, ECOA, and HMDA, points and fees, watch lists, red flags for fraud, identity theft, money laundering, etc.
  
  Strong understanding of mortgage credit risk, fraud detection, and regulatory compliance. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage teams and multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
