About This Role- Review documentation and permit applications to ensure compliance with applicable ordinances, codes, and policies.
- Perform initial customer interviews, including quality control and issuance of various types of construction permits, and quality control of construction documents for plan review.
- Managing files, records, and generating notifications of plan resubmission expiration dates.
- Lot Escrows processing and acceptance.
- Provide written and verbal responses to developers/engineers regarding plan submission process and procedures.
- Record, process, and report all monetary transactions, including payments received and deposits.
- Provide plan submissions acceptance, approval, and pickup notifications to developers and engineers.
- Perform special projects involving a variety of assignments, creating reports and/or Excel spreadsheets relating to the status of developers’ plans approval and/or permit requirements.
- Assist customers with the electronic submission and processing of applications, and perform related administrative duties as needed.
High school diploma or G.E.D.
Preferences- Ability to express ideas clearly, orally and in writing.
- Knowledge of Land Development, Subdivision Ordinances, Zoning, Building Permit processes and procedures.
- Experience working with customers and providing customer service.
- Cash handling experience is a plus.
- Background working with the public in a local government setting.
- Ability to read/interpret legal documents, site plans, plats, deeds, and proffers or special use conditions.
- Effective oral/written communication regarding regulations and requirements to customers and staff.
This position works a standard Monday-Friday schedule, working 37.5 hours per week.
This is not a telework-eligible position.
Special RequirementsValid Driver’s License – must pass DMV records check.
Starting Salary Range$21.14 - $27.00
