Join the Maine State Police communications team as a social media, photography, and videography specialist. In this dynamic role, you’ll help tell the story of the Maine State Police by creating engaging, informative content across our social media platforms. From capturing compelling photos and video in the field to developing creative digital content, you’ll have a unique opportunity to showcase the work of our troopers and connect with communities across Maine.
We’re looking for someone who brings creativity, professionalism and accuracy to every assignment and understands the responsibility that comes with representing the Maine State Police.
Required:
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of public relations work.
- Knowledge of the technical and operating aspects of a variety of media.
- Knowledge of the methods and techniques of disseminating information.
- Knowledge of journalism.
- Knowledge of effective media techniques.
- Knowledge of graphic and/or visual arts.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to write clearly and effectively writing.
- Ability to prepare and edit informational material.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work.
- Ability to conduct research.
- Knowledge of Department functions, objectives, policies, and programs.
- Knowledge of photo-journalistic principles and practices.
- Knowledge of photography.
- Ability to create and present informative and educational reports and programs.
- Ability to plan and promote events and activities.
- Ability to design and construct exhibits and displays.
A four (4) year combination of education, training, and/or experience in outdoor education, public relations, or program management. Education in other fields must be supplemented by two (2) years of work experience which provides knowledge of professional outdoor education, public relations, various media, and/or information dissemination techniques.
