Overview
Cedarfield CNA Part Time positions. Two part-time shifts available: evening shift 2:45 pm - 11:15 pm with alternating weekends; day shift 6:45 am - 3:15 pm with alternating weekends. 16 hours per week. Health Care.
Responsibilities- Assists the professional nursing team by performing certified nursing assistant duties according to Pinnacle Living policies and procedures.
- Provides encouragement and assistance designed to motivate residents to their maximum level of independence.
- This CNA position will be working in the Healthcare side of the building.
- Provide residents assistance with activities of daily living including personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, nourishment and fluids, skin care, turning and positioning for residents with limited mobility per care plan or service plan.
- Assist residents with dining, including ensuring they receive meals and assisting with eating when needed.
- Assist resident one-on-one with life enrichment programming in accordance with their individualized service plan.
- Observe residents’ behavior patterns and report changes to the nurse in charge for care plan updates.
- Assist residents in and out of bed, walk with residents according to plan of care, and assist to the bathroom as needed.
- Change bed linens at least twice per week and as needed.
- Complete weights and vitals per plan of care or service plan.
- Participate in updating residents’ plan of care or service plan.
- Document care provided in medical records.
- Respond to call lights within established guidelines.
- Assist residents to social and dining events and encourage participation.
- Provide emotional support, comfort, and safety to residents.
- Monitor resident safety and report accidents and unusual occurrences to the nurse in charge.
- Keep the environment neat, clean, and safe.
- Report faulty equipment and safety hazards to the nurse in charge immediately.
- Attend in-service education programs and meetings as scheduled.
- Complete Relias Learning assignments and other in-services.
- Uphold the resident Bill of Rights.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Graduate from an approved Nursing Assistant Program.
- Credentialed as a Certified Nursing Assistant in Virginia.
- CPR/AED certification required.
- 2 years of experience preferred.
- Basic conceptual knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures within nursing assistance.
- Ability to read, write and communicate using the English language.
- Ability to perform basic math computations.
- Demonstrates working knowledge of common medical processes and treatments.
- Ability to clean up bodily fluids or simple safety hazards as needed.
- Moderate level of guidance and direction; work is reviewed at critical points for soundness of judgment.
- Independent decisions are made based on standard policies and practices.
- Ability to assist residents based on nurse plans and direction.
- Basic problem solving with guidance from a more experienced staff member as needed.
- Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Extensive walking, bending, stooping, standing, pushing and pulling.
- Fast-paced work with multiple tasks.
- Ability to work inside and outside to make rounds and respond to problems and emergencies.
- Flexible scheduling, including weekends, evenings, holidays and inclement weather as required.
- Exposure to typical healthcare environment including interactions with residents with dementia.
- Double time on designated holidays.
