Physical Therapist - Inpatient Acute, Adult
Join our team of physical therapists treating patients in the acute care setting of UVA Medical Center. This is an exciting opportunity to work with patients who present with a wide variety of complex issues and to collaborate with an engaged multidisciplinary team.
This role seeks a Physical Therapist 2 who consistently provides effective direct care, serves as a role model, and supervises junior staff. The PT2 identifies unmet physical therapy needs, seeks feedback to improve clinical practice, expands clinical knowledge beyond entry level, shares that knowledge through in‑services, mentors PT1s, coordinates care with the interdisciplinary team, and may contribute to performance appraisals and serve as the primary clinical instructor for students.
- Performs physical therapy examinations according to professional standards and departmental policy.
- Demonstrates knowledge of intervention options and executes a program of skilled physical therapy interventions.
- Actively participates in professional growth of self and others.
- Actively participates in quality improvement and program development.
Minimum Requirements
- Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy. - Experience:
6 months relevant experience. - Licensure:
Licensed to practice in Physical Therapy in the Commonwealth of Virginia. - Certification:
American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires standing for prolonged periods and frequently bending, stooping, and traveling. Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills; attention to detail and ability to write legibly; ability to lift, push, or pull 20–50 lbs. May be exposed to blood, body fluids, and infectious disease.
Position Compensation Range
$73,444.80 – $ per year
