Overview
Inova Physical Therapy Services is looking for an Outpatient Physical Therapist to join the team. This role will be full-time, Monday–Friday, day shift hours with two late evenings until 7:00 pm.
Job location:
46000 Center Oak Plaza #250, Sterling, VA 20166.
Schedule:
M-F with two late evenings until 7:00 pm.

Responsibilities- The Physical Therapist selects evaluations and treatment methods appropriate for the patient s diagnosis, age group, and physical/emotional status while formulating treatment plans.
- Demonstrates essential skill competencies in the use of treatment modalities, equipment, and protocols.
- Performs re-evaluations according to department guidelines and adjusts treatment plans accordingly.
- Adheres to department policies regarding the timeframe, form, and content of written evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
- Communicates effectively with patients, families, medical staff, care team members, students, supervisors, and outside contacts.
- Documents the results of evaluations clearly and completely by including all essential elements according to department policy.
- Completes daily progress notes that reflect patients responses to treatment and assessments relevant to the treatment plan and discharge needs.
- Completes discharge notes that include a summary of the course of treatment, progress toward goals, discharge needs, and education for patient and/or family.
- Documents clearly, concisely and legibly within established time frames to support continued treatment and reimbursements.
- Documents evidence of patient and family/caregiver education.
- Contacts families, physicians or other healthcare team members to facilitate effective treatment plans.
- Provides educational materials and methods appropriate to the patient s level of understanding and motivation, including families/caregivers in education and training.
- Demonstrates collaboration in communication with team members and openness to feedback and change.
- Gives appropriate instruction and supervision to assistive personnel in line with program/clinic policies and regulatory requirements.
- Assumes leadership roles in committees, department processes and special projects as appropriate.
- Demonstrates fiscal responsibility and knowledge about supplies, equipment, billing and staff resources used in the department.
- Performs re-evaluations according to department guidelines.
- Applies knowledge of therapeutic techniques during evaluations and throughout treatment, adjusting plans as patient status changes.
- Demonstrates current knowledge of therapeutic techniques and evaluation methods.
- Demonstrates creative problem-solving and adaptability when treating patients with diverse or special circumstances.
- Assumes responsibility for the course of Physical Therapy patient management from initial contact to discharge for functional progress, safety and outcomes.
- Addresses discharge planning needs from initial evaluation to discharge.
- Chooses appropriate evaluation tests/tools relevant to the diagnosis and reason for referral, administers tools/tests and interprets data based on team feedback.
- Develops goals and treatment plans prioritized by input from patients, families, and healthcare team members and aligned with evaluation findings.
- Formulates comprehensive treatment plans to improve functional status and address referral reasons.
- May perform additional duties as assigned.
- Certification - Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) Upon Start
- Licensure - Physical Therapist Upon Start; VA licensure or compact privileges are acceptable
- Experience - Not Required
- Education - Bachelor s Degree in Physical Therapy
