• Conduct audits on documentation, coding, and billing practices, providing detailed reports and training to address deficiencies
• Develop audit summary spreadsheets and present findings to staff and physicians
• Validate compliance with coding systems and regulatory requirements through periodic reviews
• Monitor inpatient case mix reports to identify trends and variations in coding practices
• Provide guidance and education related to coding guidelines and documentation techniques

• High school diploma or GED
• Certification from the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) or American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA)
• 5 years of experience in hospital or physician coding and/or auditing, with a minimum of 3 years for internal transfer candidates
• In-depth knowledge of ICD CM, ICD PCS, and CPT/HCPCS coding systems
• Strong analytical and communication skills

• Associate's Degree
• 3 years of experience in claims processing and data management
• Background in auditing with a strong focus on education and training in coding and reimbursement
