Med Star Health is looking for an MRI Technologist to join our team at Med Star Washington Hospital Center. As an MRI Technologist, you will perform diagnostic Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) examinations according to established imaging protocols, and provide efficient and effective patient care in high‑quality diagnostic MRI examinations. You will also deliver high customer service, performing consistently with the Hospital organization values.

Primary Duties- Conduct patient interviews to identify contraindicated implants, foreign bodies, and other medical conditions.
- Identify and perform appropriate examinations based on patient history.
- Verify prescription and protocol.
- Use appropriate imaging parameters.
- Inject contrast based on patient weight after verifying the patient’s renal function status.
- Verify image quality prior to ending the examination.
- Document examinations appropriately.
- Verify the examinations in Cerner, PACS, Pen Rad and DynaCAD (when applicable).
- Assist in organizing and maintaining inventory of supplies.
- Maintain a high state of cleanliness in the work area.
- Promptly prepare films and CDs upon request.
- Assist with protocol development and implementation.
- Assist with the training of new personnel and Radiology School students regarding procedures, imaging protocols and department policy.
- Collect quality‑control data for managers, such as film usage and equipment problems.
- Complete all required information system functions to assure proper patient information, billing, examination and other necessary functions.
- Associate’s degree or one to three years of formal training in an American Medical Association accredited school of Radiologic Technology/Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
- Job‑related experience or successful completion of a formal MRI educational training program.
- Waived for Med Star Washington Hospital Center Radiology School students that have rotated to MRI.
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technology) MRI or ARMRIT (American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists) within 1 year.
- BLS (Basic Life Support).
- Hiring range: USD $35.68 – $64.71 per hour.
