Human Services Program Specialist Richmond

The Human Services Program Specialist supports violence prevention initiatives for Richmond City residents through the Virginia Department of Health. The role involves planning, coordinating, and implementing community-based violence prevention programs; developing partnerships with community organizations, schools, healthcare providers, and law enforcement; and providing technical assistance and outreach on violence prevention strategies. The specialist assists with community needs assessment, program evaluation, grant compliance, and supports the Health District's Community Health Improvement Plan.

• Knowledge of public health principles and practices related to violence prevention, community engagement, and prevention programming
• Experience planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating community-based programs or public health initiatives
• Experience developing and maintaining collaborative partnerships with community organizations, schools, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders
• Experience collecting, maintaining, and analyzing program data; preparing reports; and ensuring compliance with policies and grant requirements
• Experience in public health, violence prevention, or related human services programs
• Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred
