Vice President of Pharmacy Operations

We are currently supporting an established and fast growing 503A compounding pharmacy in Northern Virginia that is looking to hire a VP of Pharmacy Operations.

The pharmacy runs high-volume sterile and non-sterile compounding operations with a strong foundation already in place. What comes next is scale: more volume, new locations, and a multi-site operating model built for the next chapter of expansion. This pharmacy operations leader, whether a PharmD, RPh, Director of Pharmacy Operations, or Head of Pharmacy today, owns operations end to end, from prescription receipt through compounding, dispensing, and fulfillment, with full accountability for people, capacity, P&L, and customer experience, in service of a mission of enriching lives through compounded medications.

This is not a maintenance role. This is a build-for-scale leadership seat inside a high-volume, USP , USP and USP regulated compounding pharmacy, for an operator who wants to own the result.

• Own end-to-end pharmacy operations performance, turnaround time, and accuracy
• Build the management structure and develop the department's pharmacy leaders
• Own departmental P&L, labor efficiency, inventory, procurement, and unit economics
• Translate growth plans into multi-year operating plans and standardized site models
• Lead the operational launch and integration of new pharmacy locations
• Drive pharmacy automation, technology, and infrastructure initiatives that add capacity
• Own the patient and provider service experience
• Maintain compliant execution with Quality and Compliance, the Pharmacist in Charge, and the state Board of Pharmacy

• 5+ years of progressive pharmacy operations leadership in high-volume or complex pharmacy operations
• 5+ years leading managers and holding teams accountable for results
• Direct 503A or 503B compounding pharmacy operations experience, with sterile and non-sterile compounding exposure
• Demonstrated P&L ownership of an operating function, including labor productivity, waste, and unit economics
• Proven record scaling pharmacy operations through growth, facility expansion, or new-site launches
• Strong working knowledge of USP compounding standards, state Board of Pharmacy requirements, and quality systems
• Experience leading major operational change such as new-site launches, automation, or process redesign

• Led a single-site to multi-site pharmacy operations transition
• Pharmacy automation and technology that increases throughput and accuracy
• Led a patient and provider customer service function in a compounding, specialty, central fill, or mail order pharmacy
• MBA, MHA, or equivalent
