The Tides Inn is a beloved waterfront, luxury resort nestled on Carter’s Creek in Irvington, Virginia. The resort has been a cherished resort for generations and has recently undergone a number of renovations and enhancements that are helping the resort in repositioning the brand and overall experience. The resort features 70 luxurious accommodations, tennis and pickleball courts, full-service spa, an 18-hole golf course, a functioning farm, Maker’s Space (artistic activities), its own large marina, and two cherished restaurants including Salt & Meadow Restaurant.

Job SummaryProvides all aspects of the highest level of guest service. This position makes Marina reservations, answers Marina related inquiries (public and internal), books property activities, dinner reservations, area activities and events and oversees general Marina operations. This position should promote/sell and have full knowledge of the resort’s services to maximize the guest’s awareness of the services available on property and is responsible for arranging welcome amenities for arriving Marina guests.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities- Answering calls from guests and staff.
- Make appropriate Marina reservations for individual boaters.
- Document requests for group reservations for Marina Manager approval.
- Determine the guest’s needs in order to familiarize them with the various activities offered both on and off property.
- Responsible for arranging welcome amenities for arriving Marina guests.
- Maintain a clear and organized desk area.
- Enter information into the computer system on any slip room, event or service you have scheduled / booked.
- Make reservations as requested for dinner, events, air travel, rental cars, etc. as necessary.
- Provide guests with directions to attractions or facilities on or outside the property.
- Have knowledge of all that the property offers and recommends.
- Coordinates guests’ requests for special services including flower arrangements, gift baskets, etc.
- Complete appropriate documents for special requests to insure the correct department is notified and that the billing information is complete.
- Contact in-house Marina guests periodically to ascertain any special needs.
- Quickly and efficiently follow through on all requests from guests.
- Handle all guests’ concerns/complaints professionally, efficiently and in a courteous and timely manner.
- Assists in training new Marina staff.
- Ability to maintain the highest level of service to our guests in a professional manner at all times.
- Provide confirmations to the guest of anything scheduled so they are aware of the cost, cancellation policy, date, time, etc
- Be prepared and able to fill in for other Marina staff as required
- Other duties as assigned
