Technical Solution Engineer, Public Safety
This is a Pre-Sales position that will work with Sales to understand specific Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) operations, pain points, and goals to create solutions to meet their needs. The candidate will develop relationships with key personnel and influencers in accounts and partners.
The position will also coordinate with appropriate internal groups to generate and deliver winning Contract Bids, Proposals, RFI/RFP Responses, and Statements of Work. Strong domain expertise in Next Generation 9-1-1 is required.
Job Description- Support Sales with the closure of sales opportunities for NG9-1-1 Call Handling opportunities.
- Attends Public Safety trade shows and conferences, demonstrating the company products and supporting the corporate messaging.
- Attend customer meetings, make presentations to individuals and groups.
- Lead interactive whiteboard sessions with customers/ pursuits to understand their problems and business goals discussing potential solutions in real time.
- Act as a trusted advisor to influence customer’s technology platform decisions and develop preference and loyalty for our client’s products.
- Partner with Sales to set strategy, key contributor to RFP and RFI responses, provide capture strategies, competitive insights, price-to-win analysis, and win themes.
- Develops strong relationships with key PSAP technical influencers and 911 strategic decision maker.
- Develop strong presence in territory as a spokesperson for our client by becoming involved in industry activities/organizations.
- Work with different internal teams and key third-party vendors during solution development and handover.
- Must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time. Most of this travel will be with your local state or states.
- At least 5 years of experience selling in Public Safety and experience with PSAP’s.
- Knowledge of consulting agencies and independent contractors that work, advise or otherwise do business in the public safety field in the region.
- Expert subject matter knowledge of Public Safety Call Handling and Computer Aided Dispatch workflows and technology in the industry.
- Understanding of ESINET implementation efforts and how those impact future business development opportunities and leads.
- Working knowledge of NENA i3 Next Generation 911 standards.
- Core Technical skills:
VoIP, QoS, OSP Wired/ Wireless call routing, Data Networking, GIS/ LDB Data Bases, CAD, monitoring tools.
- Advanced presentation skills
