We have an opening for a Deputy/Lead Dev Ops Lead Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in the Tactical Space organization. This position will be in Dulles VA and requires a TS clearance to start. This work will be performed in a SCIF environment, so onsite work is required .
Job Responsibilities
In this role you will:
Automate cloud native technologies, deploy applications, and provision critical infrastructure
Work with microservices and distributed application architecture, such as containers, Kubernetes, and/or serverless technology
Work within the Open Stack cloud ecosystem to configure and deploy optimized infrastructure
Ensure monitoring and health of the resources deployed via Nagios or other enterprise management solutions
Document procedures used during deployment cycles
Experience with operational monitoring tools
Work with the fellow Dev Ops team and play a mentoring role to cross-train and grow technical talent across Dev Ops team and assist in troubleshooting tasks
Implement clean and maintainable infrastructure-as-code that adheres to industry best practices, terraform
To be successful in this role you should have:
Excel in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and quick deadlines
Strong troubleshooting skills and readiness to tackle unfamiliar challenges
5+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Terraform, and Ansible
Over 5 years of experience with Linux tools/automation, shell scripting, and Python programming
2+ years of AWS experience
3+ years of managing Open Stack environments
5+ years of experience with Docker containerization;
Kubernetes (K8s) orchestration preferredExtensive experience (5+ years) with continuous integration/deployment tools like Jenkins or Git Lab
Proven ability (5+ years) to create, execute, and troubleshoot complex automated processes for server configuration and code deployment
Demonstrated leadership in Dev Ops projects
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (ideally Computer Science or Engineering) and 8 years of experience; OR a master’s degree and 6 years: OR a PhD and 4 years. Experience can be considered in lieu of degree.
5+ years of Dev Ops or software development experience (general IT experience alone not sufficient)
5+ years in a technical leadership role managing technical objectives and Jira metrics reporting
We may consider adjacent technologies: AWS, Ansible, Kubernetes (K8S), Oracle Cloud, Open Shift
U.S. Citizenship with a current or active Top-Secret clearance at time of application
