Description
At Northrop Grumman, our employees have incredible opportunities to work on revolutionary systems that impact people's lives around the world today, and for generations to come. Our pioneering and inventive spirit has enabled us to be at the forefront of many technological advancements in our nation's history - from the first flight across the Atlantic Ocean, to stealth bombers, to landing on the moon.
We look for people who have bold new ideas, courage and a pioneering spirit to join forces to invent the future, and have fun along the way. Our culture thrives on intellectual curiosity, cognitive diversity and bringing your whole self to work — and we have an insatiable drive to do what others think is impossible. Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.
We have an opening for an Information Systems Administrator to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in the Tactical Space organization. This position will be filled at our Dulles, VA office . Due to the nature of the work, this position is 100% onsite.
Essence of the Role:
Each program within the Tactical Space Systems Division requires a team of technical engineers dedicated to meeting computing needs. The initiative, known as the IT Shop, aims to provide technical solutions to software and systems engineers to expedite product delivery. This is essential because the expertise needed to design and implement hardware systems might not always be available within individual programs.
Support is generally provided remotely, as most program tasks are suitable for this model. However, onsite access can be challenging for simple activities such as powering machines on and off, checking system and environmental temperatures, or placing computers.
The list of IT Shop activities and responsibilities includes, but is not limited to:
Administer computing assets
Design, build, maintain, and troubleshoot both physical and virtual systems
Act as liaison with the external IT department (Northrop Grumman Enterprise Services)
Resolve connection issues for internal and externally connected networks
Monitor, troubleshoot, report, and perform basic remediation for environmental (i.e., physical plant) issues
Collaborate with the team to implement CMMC compliance across various environments
Serve as a triage point for tickets: analyze tickets, request additional information, process and assign tickets, confirm resolution with requestors, and close tickets
