Description
Make a difference for national security by joining a team of dedicated IT professionals who will sustain, modernize and transform the enterprise IT capabilities for the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA). The Air Force, Space and Intelligence Business Group (AFSI) of SAIC is seeking a Service Now Software Developer Senior to support a transformational infrastructure program for DCSA.
SAIC is proud to be supporting DCSA in safeguarding our nation’s information. DCSA is the designated oversight authority on the accreditation of classified facilities, information systems, and the insider threat program. This involves security oversight of more than 10,000 companies and approximately 13,000 facilities involved in classified work throughout the DoD and 31 Federal agencies.
Specifically, on the DCSA One IT program, SAIC will provide an enterprise IT solution that delivers highly secured and adaptable IT infrastructure, provides customer support, and cutting-edge technologies that support operations and advance the DCSA mission under a single IT environment (i.e., One IT).
Job DescriptionThe Service Now Software Developer Senior will play a pivotal role in the DCSA AT client engagement by leveraging their expertise in the Service Now platform to enhance, optimize, and automate IT service management and business processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Service Now development, excellent problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of ITIL processes. They will work closely with stakeholders to understand requirements, design solutions, and implement Service Now modules and functionalities to meet the needs of the DCSA.

- Service Now Development:
Develop and configure Service Now functionality using Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, UI Actions, Script Includes, and Flow Designer. - Service Now Development:
Customize Service Now applications and facilitate configuration management of all implemented changes. - Service Now Development:
Develop workflows, scripts, business rules, UI policies, UI actions, client scripts, and notifications.
- Scripting & Automation:
Write and maintain server-side and client-side JavaScript. - Scripting & Automation:
Implement automation using Flow Designer. - Scripting & Automation:
Use Glide APIs to manipulate data and enforce logic. - Scripting & Automation:
Support integrations by consuming or exposing REST/SOAP APIs under guidance.
- Integration and Automation:
Design and implement integrations between Service Now and other enterprise systems using REST/SOAP APIs and integration hub. - Integration and Automation:
Automate routine tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual efforts.
- Maintain data quality across Service Now tables.
- Configure reference fields, choice lists, and catalog items.
- Support CMDB updates and basic relationship management
- Perform data imports and transform maps.
- Perform unit testing and functional testing of developed solutions.
- Troubleshoot defects and production issues.
- Fix bugs and implement change requests.
- Support UAT and post-deployment validation.
- Monitor assigned functionality for performance and reliability.
- Identify and report technical debt or platform risks.
- Adhere to Service Now best practices and upgrade-safe development patterns.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in Service Now development and administration.
- Secret clearance.
- Extensive experience with Service Now platform capabilities and tools, including scripting, customization, and configuration.
- Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and other relevant programming languages.
- Strong understanding of ITIL processes and best practices.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance as required by the client.
- Service Now Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification.
- Service Now Certified Application Developer (CAD) certification.
- Experience with additional Service Now modules such as Security Operations (Sec Ops), Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC).
- Prior experience working with government or defense clients.
- Familiarity with Dev Ops practices and tools.
