Position: Software Developer / Application Support

Position Title: Senior Software Engineer – Application Support & Dev Sec Ops Location: Remote (United States)
Clearance Requirements: Ready to obtain public trust
Position Status: Contract
Pay Rate: Competitive (W2)

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with a strong background in application support, Dev Sec Ops , and enterprise eCommerce platforms to support and enhance a high‑visibility, revenue‑generating system within a large‑scale technology environment.

This role focuses primarily on production application support and operational excellence
, including environment management, CI/CD pipelines, security patching, performance monitoring, and reporting. While the primary emphasis is support and stability, there will also be opportunities to contribute to feature enhancements, defect resolution, and modernization initiatives as capacity allows.

You will work closely with software engineers, UX designers, business analysts, and systems teams to ensure reliability, security, and scalability across multiple integrated applications. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned engineer who thrives in complex environments and enjoys balancing hands‑on technical work with leadership and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support, maintain, and enhance enterprise‑scale Java‑based applications with a focus on stability, performance, and security
  • Lead and contribute to Dev Sec Ops  initiatives
    , including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and environment deployments
  • Manage application environments across web and application servers, including certificate management and server health monitoring
  • Analyze databases and generate operational and performance reports to support business and technical decision‑making
  • Perform load, performance, and automated testing using modern testing frameworks
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with developers, UX designers, analysts, and infrastructure teams
  • Serve as a technical lead on projects, providing guidance, code reviews, and mentorship to other developers
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and contribute to software user manuals
  • Partner with engineering teams to evaluate software‑hardware interfaces and define technical specifications
  • Apply security patches and updates to integrated applications and resolve vulnerabilities as needed
Required Skills / Education
  • Minimum of 8 years of professional software engineering experience
  • Strong experience developing and supporting applications using Java 8 or higher
  • Front‑end development experience with React, jQuery, Bootstrap, HTML5, and CSS
  • Hands‑on experience in application support
    , including deployments, monitoring, performance testing, and troubleshooting
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, or equivalent tools
  • Proficiency with Git version control and Git Hub
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Git Hub Actions, or similar tools
  • Experience supporting Oracle Commerce platforms
    , including ATG Web Commerce, Endeca Commerce, and Oracle Secure Enterprise Search
  • Experience working with Web Sphere, Web Logic, and Linux‑based environments
  • Experience using Ansible or similar tools for configuration management and automation
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical field
    • If the degree is not in a related field, an additional four years of relevant experience may be substituted
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and deliver results in a complex environment
  • Additional certifications or credentials may be required based on project needs
