Position: Secret Cleared Systems Administrator

Location: EADS AFB - Rome, NY (100% ONSITE)

Duration: 6 Month Contract to Hire

• Install, configure, and maintain servers, operating systems (Windows or Linux), applications, and hardware.
• Proactively monitor system performance and identify potential issues.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems, escalating complex issues to senior staff when necessary.
• Implement and maintain system security measures, including firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems.
• Perform regular system backups and recovery procedures.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
• Automate routine tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Power Shell, Bash, Python).
• Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
• Collaborate with other IT teams on projects and initiatives.
• Research and recommend new technologies and solutions to improve system performance and security.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of IT documentation and knowledge base articles.

• Ability to obtain and maintain an Active Secret Clearance.
• Bachelor’s Degree and 4‑6+ years of experience.
• Security+ CE certification (please provide copy).
• Experience with operations and maintenance of Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Experience/Exposure to ACAS and STIGS.

• Strong understanding of Windows or Linux operating systems.
• In‑depth knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
• Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper‑V).
• Experience with scripting languages (Power Shell, Bash, Python).
• Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Industry certifications such as MCSA, MCSE, RHCSA, or RHCE.
