Azure Cloud Engineer III

The Azure Cloud Engineer III is primarily responsible for providing day‑to‑day administration and support on our Enterprise Support Team and our Azure customers. This position will work on resolving technical problems, performing maintenance tasks, resolving security alerts, and carrying out all administration tasks within Azure and IaaS environments.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Evaluate environments for process improvement and make recommendations; collaborate and communicate with teammates to provide good service and issue resolution.
  • Provide cloud consultation for MSP clients.
  • Create automated approaches and scripts for system administration tasks where possible and appropriate.
  • Develop, support, and document automated build and configuration management processes.
  • Optimize Intune and Autopilot.
  • Develop and implement conditional access.
  • Manage PKI certificates.
  • Manage Azure Active Directory.
  • Troubleshoot, manage, and remediate Azure tickets with a focus on the Well‑Architected Framework.
  • Regularly review cost‑optimization reports, recommend and implement optimization tasks following change‑management processes.
  • Day‑to‑day management of Office
    365.
  • Deliver training on alert triage and remediation steps for the 24/7/365 NOC team and other administrators and engineers.
  • Create and execute change‑management requests following best practice.
  • Participate in RFO documentation.

Previous experience with a fast‑paced consulting or MSP environment is a plus.

Minimum Education , Certification & Experience Requirements
  • Minimum 2–4 years IT experience supporting Azure and IaaS infrastructure.
  • Experience implementing Microsoft IaaS services in distributed computing environments.
  • Experience with JSON and Power Shell scripting.
  • Experience supporting and troubleshooting Azure/O365, Azure AD, Azure Databases (SQL, MySQL), Azure Dev Ops, ASR, Azure Cost Management, ATP, Azure Networking, Azure Storage.
  • Knowledge of compliance and security technologies including Duo and Okta.
  • Experience with Nutanix.
  • Experience managing, maintaining, and supporting core Microsoft technologies and services (Windows Server 2012+, Active Directory, DNS, NPS, IIS, Microsoft SQL Server).
  • Extensive experience managing Intune services.
  • Understand the delineation between Sys Ops and Dev Ops engineering.
  • Ability to track work and documentation within a ticketing system.
  • Participate on on‑call rotations.
  • Ability to work weekends and/or off hours as necessary to meet clients' needs.
Preferred Education, Certification & Experience
  • Architect, design, develop, and implement cloud solutions in Microsoft Azure across multiple specializations, platforms, and technologies.
  • In‑depth knowledge of public cloud providers such as AWS and Azure.
  • Strong knowledge of SAN and backup technologies.
  • In‑depth knowledge of VMware, Microsoft, HP, IBM, Cisco, VCE, Dell systems and other major infrastructure vendors.
  • In‑depth knowledge of Veeam, Varonis, Druva implementation and regular review of Azure Advisor best‑practice recommendations.
  • Regular review of Azure Monitor analytics and logs.
  • Set up best‑practice alerting within Azure and Cloud Checkr.
  • Microsoft Certified:
    Azure Administrator Associate.
  • Microsoft Certified:
    Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
  • Microsoft exam AZ‑500.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Experience with JSON and Power Shell scripting.
  • Automation and leadership skills.
  • Mentorship skills.
  • Ability to teach processes to engineers at the NOC/Service Desk in a positive and supportive way.
  • Ability to share information with team members to ensure their growth and development.
  • Confidence and experience in front of customers.
  • Strong ability to work in a team‑based environment.
  • Self‑starter with good time‑management skills.
  • Ability to negotiate outcomes with clients and management.
