Principal Network Engineer – Dulles, VA

This position provides on‑site network support at the Dulles, VA campus and several remote sites.

• Provide technical support to clients and resolve network issues promptly.
• Maintain proficiency with Cisco routers and switches.
• Understand TCP/IP related protocols, dynamic routing protocols, switching technologies and features.
• Keep up‑to‑date with industry standards, guidelines and trends in networking.
• Plan, design, configure, and install network hardware to meet customer requirements.
• Effectively troubleshoot network problems reported by users.
• Multi‑task in a dynamic environment with changing priorities.
• Create and maintain network documentation, including operational instructions.
• Monitor and analyze network performance for short- and long‑term planning.
• Travel to other NG sites as needed.
• Interface regularly with customers; manage installation timelines and deliverables.
• Use network analysis tools such as Wireshark, Opnet, Solar Winds, etc.
• Use Microsoft Office 365 applications and Visio.
• Lift equipment up to 40 pounds.
• Work after hours and weekends as required.

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience combined with a Bachelor’s degree in Science.
• Must be able to obtain a U.S. Government Secret level security clearance.
• Experience with Cisco hardware and setting up switched networks.

• Cisco CCNA or CCNP certification.
