Data Center Technicians are responsible for installing and repairing hardware and network equipment in AWS data centers, supporting 24/7 operations, and traveling within and outside the regional work area. They must work both independently and with a team, prioritize tasks, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Perform server rack installations and hardware break‑fix on various components
- Troubleshoot network issues and respond to operational incidents that impact service availability
- Escalate incidents to senior technicians and management as needed
- Serve as a primary contact point for internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, software developers, vendors, and contractors
- Perform on‑call duties and participate in scheduled maintenance and change‑management activities
- Contribute to documentation and process‑improvement initiatives based on operational issue analysis
- Help train and onboard new team members
As a Data Center Technician, you will take ownership of technical issues, engage other teams when needed, solve problems at their root, maintain service level agreements through proactive detection and reporting, and work shift schedules that include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical and Travel Requirements- Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds
- Work in cramped and/or elevated locations and at heights requiring ladders, stairs, and gangways
- Bend, lift, stretch, reach, stand, and walk for up to 8+ hours a day
- Work in a noisy environment and on shifts longer than 8 hours to support 24/7 operations
- Travel within and outside the regional work area; a reliable personal vehicle and valid driver’s license are required
- Ability to travel to or commute between data center locations as needed
- Willingness to temporarily work at alternative sites during training periods or until the assigned facility becomes operational
- Travel frequency will vary based on business needs and operational status of the assigned facility
- Must be able to work all shifts, including overnights
- High school or equivalent diploma
- 1+ years of computer/server hardware troubleshooting or related IT experience
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, and/or weekends
- Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system
- Experience working in a Data Center environment
- Associate’s degree, technical certification, or equivalent professional or military experience (e.g., computer science, networking engineering)
- Understanding of network design, protocols, and layer 1/2 troubleshooting

Lump sum stipend will be provided to eligible candidates who relocate for this position.
