SKILLS REQUIRED Primary (Must-Have)- Core People Soft Administration: 8-10 years of deep, dedicated experience handling all aspects of People Soft infrastructure, environment maintenance, and individual administration single-handedly at an onshore location.
- Lifecycle Tools & Upgrades:
Proven hands-on experience executing complex People Tools upgrades (v8.60 / v8.61 highly preferred) and leveraging People Soft Update Manager (PUM). - Server & Middleware Management:
Full mastery of application servers, web servers, and process scheduler servers, including server configuration, health checks, and routine bounce activities. - Migration & Tooling:
Proficient utilization of Phire for automated object migrations, version control, and strict compliance deployment across multiple environments. - Integration Broker Support:
Strong understanding of People Soft Integration Broker architectures to effectively troubleshoot and maintain messaging interfaces and system integrations.
- Cloud & OS Foundation:
Functional engineering knowledge of AWS cloud environments and deep familiarity with UNIX command-line operations and server administration. - Global Coordination:
Experience acting as an onshore technical anchor, seamlessly collaborating with offshore development partners and multi-functional technical teams. - Targeted Oracle
Certifications:
Active Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) status in Oracle Database Administration or People Tools Technology.
We are seeking an elite, customer-facing Senior People Soft Administrator / Infrastructure Specialist to fully own, optimize, and maintain our enterprise People Soft application environment across an extended, long-term timeline. Located permanently on-site in either Richmond, VA or McLean, VA, this highly autonomous engineer will manage a robust environment alongside a cross-functional technical team. The ideal candidate will combine 8+ years of technical expertise with impeccable communication skills driving seamless system upgrades, ensuring absolute high availability across production web/app servers, and advising on security-conscious migration best practices.
ROLES& RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the primary, standalone on-site administrator responsible for the operational health, scaling, and up-time of customer People Soft Applications.
- Lead mid-to-large-scale People Tools infrastructure upgrades (specifically moving into modern 8.60/8.61 versions) and orchestrate routine PUM patch updates.
- Monitor, adjust, tune, and bounce critical architecture nodes including App Servers, Web Servers, and Process Schedulers to guarantee application stability.
- Drive systematic codebase deployments and object promotions throughout multiple change environments utilizing the Phire migration tool.
- Diagnose and resolve high-priority interface failures and integration deadlocks embedded within the People Soft Integration Broker subsystem.
- Partner closely with upstream database administrators, infrastructure support groups, and a 4-to-6 person team of techno-functional engineers to coordinate business-as-usual (BAU) operational tickets.
