We are dedicated to providing our employees with diverse opportunities to grow their careers while supporting a variety of impactful projects. For this position, we are seeking a talented individual to join AIS as an Associate Security Engineer.

• Assist in implementing and maintaining system security controls in accordance with NIST SP 800‑53, RMF, and agency security policies.
• Support the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process, including documentation, security control implementation, and system authorization activities.
• Help prepare and maintain security documentation such as SSPs, POA&Ms, and security assessment reports.
• Participate in security testing and vulnerability assessments, including remediation tracking.
• Collaborate with system engineers, developers, and ISSOs to ensure security requirements are integrated into system designs.
• Monitor system compliance and support continuous monitoring activities.
• Assist in identifying and mitigating security risks and vulnerabilities.

• 1+ year of experience in information security, cybersecurity, or a related IT field.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Understanding of core cybersecurity principles such as confidentiality, integrity, and availability (CIA triad).
• Familiarity with RMF, NIST standards, and security best practices.
• DoD 8570/IAT Level II certification or equivalent (e.g., Security+).
• Active Top Secret clearance required.

• CISSP certification (preferred) or willingness to obtain.
• Knowledge of FISMA, FedRAMP, or DoD cybersecurity requirements.
• Exposure to vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., ACAS, Nessus).
• Basic knowledge of networking, operating systems, and cloud security concepts.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and documentation skills.

The targeted base salary range for this role is $68,000‑$104,000 per year. This range is a guideline and final offer will depend on skills, experience, education, certifications, and location.

This position will be 100% onsite in Quantico, VA.

This is a proposal‑based position; employment is contingent upon contract award and funding availability.
